Statement on Analysis of Voting Redistricting Plans: The NAS leadership notes with interest that the United States Supreme Court will be hearing a case on October 3, 2017 that involves the analysis of voter redistricting plans with computational and mathematical methods. The National Academy of Sciences is committed to aid in the development of this field by convening meetings, workshops, or other forums to ensure such computational and mathematical methods are accurate, robust and reliable, for use by courts.
