Send Us Your #PhotosWithAlbert

The National Academy of Sciences invites you to help honor the legacy of Albert Einstein by sending us your #PhotosWithAlbert. Simply take a picture of you or your group at the Einstein Memorial Statue and post it to Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, using the hashtag #PhotosWithAlbert

We'll use your #PhotosWithAlbert by sharing them online and highlighting them for display during the next NAS Annual Meeting. During this meeting, members elected in the previous year will be inducted and a new class will be elected based on their scientific research. NAS membership is considered one of the highest honors that a scientist can receive.

Why #PhotosWithAlbert

Since the statue's unveiling in 1979 it has become the NAS building's most recognizable, visited, and photographed feature. Visitors from around the world enjoy taking their #PhotosWithAlbert. We think this is a wonderful opportunity to share your appreciation for this beloved landmark and honor the legacy of Albert Einstein. We also hope to draw attention to the important work of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and National Academy of Medicine.

About the Memorial

The bronze sculpture depicts Einstein holding a tablet with equations symbolizing three of his most important scientific contributions. A circular sky map shows the planets, sun, moon and stars positioned as they were when the memorial was dedicated in 1979.
